‘Witcher 3’ Mod Adds Playable Henry Cavill

Even with no context if you told me that there’s a new mod adding playable Henry Cavill to The Witcher 3 on PC. I would be on board. Superman as Geralt? Hell yeah, what a great idea! But as we all know this modder didn’t come up with the idea, Netflix did. The actual Henry Cavill stars in Netflix’s upcoming live-action Witcher TV show. This mod will just get you in the mood.

Created by user Adnan on Nexus Mods, this mod gives you a pretty accurate and pretty handsome Henry Cavill take on Geralt of Rivia to quest with as you travel across the continent in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. He’s got all the facial hair options and shirtlessness and creepy black magic eyes you want. I’m kind of wishing CD Projekt Red includes this as an official skin in the upcoming Nintendo Switch version.

While the Netflix show says it’s based on the books, we all know that it’s the games that are responsible for current Witcher fandom, so it’s cool to see this mod acknowledge that. Geralt’s original voice actor, Doug Cockle, even had a laugh about it.

This is just further proof that we’re living in a new golden age of PC mods swapping out original playable characters with way funnier replacements. Want to play as Woody from Toy Story in Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice? Add in Shrek for the ogres for good measure. Make Mr. X wear a thong in Resident Evil 2. Pledge yourself to Keanu Reeves in Metal Gear Solid V. And fill Devil May Cry 5 with even more angst thanks to Kylo Ren.
